Bear in Italy Valley

My son me a phone pic of bear tracks on the deck of his cabin today as there was a sprinkling of snow on the deck . When the heck do these guys go into hibernation ?

We have bears all over by me.

Bears only go into hibernation when the snows are deep or food becomes scarce. If it's a warm dry winter, it's not unusual for them to stay out the whole winter.
