Orleans county w/ 9" bases

Colton Palmer shot this buck in Orleans county.

 

He shared part of his hunt with me on NY Hunt Club facebook page.

Colton Palmer : I crawled on my hands and knees across a cut corn field for over 200yds. Came to the edge of the woods I had seen him come into. Grunted and snorted at him. He blew back and stood up.

 

When I had stood up he was around 150yds running 30yds inside of the woods. I shot him 4 times with Hornady SST and put him down in his tracks. From where I was standing to where he died was 178 yards.

Crazy deer...  Why would he have to shoot it 4 times though?

I say that every time I hear people emptying there guns but I've done it also. Deer still movin and I have crosshairs I'm still shooting. Especially that deer!! Cool stalking

I rather shot it 4 times, than be tracking it for 6 hours.

Its there... and he never had it scored... officially that is.
