Dutchess County Moose

I didn't realize moose were that far south. I know they were growing in numbers far north. 

 

they have been down here for a few years.  one was killed on 684 in Goldens Bridge 2 years or so ago.  another was killed in Kent Ct by DEC...brain worm or something

the moose that was killed on rt684 was closer to 6 or years ago, and caused a 7-9 car pile up, it was buried right near where it was killed, the one that was killed in kent had been hanging out near clearpool education center( near Boyds rreservoir) and was letting people walk up and pet it, DEC put it down and latter determined that it was infected with brainworm

just to let you peeps know,a few years ago one was shot in the great swamp in Patterson,and another was killed in Dutchess near the Trinity Pawling school off of rte 22

 

maybe the state should look into a moose lottery like some of the New England states
