I was almost ready to pull the trigger on this one but decided to wait for the reviews. In the mean time I'm still working on my winter project - my DIY streaming video trail cam. It's coming together slowly - - ok very . . . very . . . slowly! Lol!

Wow, you werent kidding on the price. $600 at Cabelas! Get a Covert Code Black for around half the price and do the same thing lol.

Good and bad about the camera if you don't take into account the price.

 

The only benefit to this is the option for high-res imagery at a per pic situation. Everything else is status quo with what the Code Black offers. I don't know whether the 2014 Code Black will offer the High Res option yet.

 

The whole "go through us" advertisement is for those who can't follow directions. I'm sure it'll sell some people though. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why people drool over it other than the high-res option. It does nothing that the Code Black cant otherwise.

 

I think this cam would be MUCH more realistic in the $350-400 range. $600 is insane to pay that much.

I agree phade, that price is insane. Honestly I'd rather just get a reconyx for that price. The code black seems to be a better option. But the fact bushnell offers a wireless cam now is a good thing. Just the price that follows it is really high.

The reconyx that offers pic transmission via SIM is $1,200+.

 

You are talking about apples and oranges. Can't compare MMS/Cell cams to non-cell cams.

No you mis understood me... I meant just the rc500 in general over the wireless. I'm wasn't talking about wireless at that point just the dollar value. I was saying if I was paying that i personally rather a reconyx. I like the less then 1 sec refresh rate Inbetween images. Sorry for confusing you, it was just a random thought in my head. I know they are 2 dif cams
