WNYBuckHunter
Thats another reason I liked this bow over others.I know the ones I have been considering from excaliber are over 200,that much weight has to be a bear to get pulled back even with a rope cocker No kidding, try and do that quietly in a small platform hang on stand or a climber with a rail in the front. MACHINIST
Now that you mentioned that, how hard is it to reload a crossbow using the foot loop in a summit climber?I use my climber a ton,I also have ladders and loc ons but thats not a big concern with those because they have no front rail
WNYBuckHunter
I have no idea, I have a Summit Viper and cant see it being easy, if possible at all.
Doc
The draw weight of this bow is actually less than that of many of its horizontal cousins, and it gets close to the same speed with a longer arrow. 70-90lb limbs or 125lb limbs with speeds around the 370 mark for the 125lb setup. The draw length is 20+ inches from what I can find, and it shoots a 25 or 26 inch arrow, so I figure draw is around 24 ish maybe? I don't know, that draw length sure does look a whole lot longer. It looks like he almost gets a corner of the mouth anchor out of that, which I have never seen on a horizontal version. It's hard to tell from the shot angles of this video, but there was another picture on another thread that showed a side view. Basically, it looks like it gets as much draw as a regular vertical bow. BizCT
Thats another reason I liked this bow over others.I know the ones I have been considering from excaliber are over 200,that much weight has to be a bear to get pulled back even with a rope cocker The rope cocker from Excalibur supposedly cuts the weight in half. I have the vortex 200lb, so it's like deadlifting 100lbs, it's not bad at all unless your taking a ton of shots in 1 day. I only hunt from the ground, so no tree stand issues but for people who hunt from tree stands it would probably be easier to cock it on the ground before raising it up and then putting the bolt in after your raise it up to our stand Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

MACHINIST
I talked to the maker of the crossbow about it the other day.I will be ordering one in a few weeks. He offers a 5 day inspection period and if you dont like it notify him in 5 days and send it back.He also said he hunts out of a summit treestand and he says he has no problem getting the crossbow down to his feet to re-cock.
