Shipping ammo?

Recommended Posts

Right now, there is a huge black market ammo running system being set up in NY state because of this law.  People are buying large quantities of ammo in other states and bringing them to NY to sell to shooters under the radar.  The sellers are making a respectable profit doing it and the buyers stay off the state's intrusive check system, that is being loaded into a database of gun owners in NY.

That database will eventually be used for confiscation, taxation, or both.

This law is creating more lawbreakers and more non-compliance than any other gun law ever forced upon law abiding citizens in the entire history of NY State.  Can you say, "Unconstitutional"?  Sure, but what NY elected official cares about that?

The data base/background check was put on hold, because it is not setup ( I think it was put on hold till after the Nov elections) but also have a real feeling that the state bit off more then it could chew with the data base and it will never be up and running ( and millions of dollars will be wasted). Most Ammo places won't ship to NY unless its to a FFL dealer which are charging between $50 and $70 to do the transfer. The law states commercial transfers most be face to face. So buying ammo say ammo from a individual is legal.
