Adolescent red tails

For the last week we've had a pair of what appear to be adolescent red tail hawks lurking around the house. Every morning they sit in the giant walnut tree or on the tops of the telephone poles and screech, shriek, and call for hours. Don't know a lot about them but I'm assuming they've been kicked out of the nest and are fending for themselves. Pretty neat experience to watch and hear.

To top it off, we've had a lonely male mockingbird here for several weeks as well singing his A$$ off. All times of the day. When the moon was full last week he was calling in the middle of the night. He usually starts his antics about 3:30-4 am. Hope the little guy finds a mate so we can sleep in a little bit!

I have a mocking bird here, it starts singing at dust. I hear it during the night and i wake up to it singing. Love it

That's funny, my sister had a mocking bird keep her up at night. Those hawks are pretty amazing, pictures!!!!?

Here are the hawks. One was perched on top of the pole while the other was scouring for food.
