No rifles allowed in Letchworth Park

I saw yesterday on the Letchworth website that rifles are not allowed in the park .Both counties that Letchworth is in are open to rifles for deer hunting but the park says no.Oh well shotgun and muzzle loader it is then.

I kinda figured this would be the case. But, boy there are a few spots that I would really like my rifle..lol

I wasn't sure if the park was going to allow rifles.Plenty of places that would have been great and a few not so great. I would have liked to have hunted with rifle there too.

O your right some how I miss read that....those rules are for Alleghany state park....but I do believe all state parks have same rules...

Nope pistols are good and i have carried my trusty 6 shot shotgun loaded to the gills for many years. My partner is a local police officer and he use's his pistol on the park more than his shotgun. I have stood there many times, twiddling my thumbs while him and park police officer compare work weapons and hunting pistols! I believe the park is all by DEC rules except the antlers and the rifles for the most part.

O....good to know....but I know that in Alleghany state park you can only carry if a active member of the police. and have to plug shotguns and can't shoot bears it's all in their flyer they give you when you check in to hunt....bc you have to sign in and out when hunting there
