VT Outfitter
I was moving a tree stand to a better position. While trimming a few limbs in a shooting lane I found these things on a branch. They are white like snow and they were moving and twitching. Very strange, I have never seen this before. Anyone know what they are? Did I find an alien race? PREDATE
I'm gonna guess that it's an apple tree and those are Wooly Apple Aphids.
PREDATE
as soon as I sent my last post I found this Katydid on my deck while I was out having a smoke. Edited October 21, 2014 by PREDATE

VT Outfitter
No, it wasn't an apple tree. This was on the edge of a hardwood/softwood tree line. I believe it was a beech nut tree. Will the wooly aphids kill those trees?
