What is your worst Hunting Gear Purchase ?

My worst purchase would be The Rescue One Controlled Descent System . Several years ago , I purchased one of these for $150 . I opened the package but never used it . I often hunt out of mostly 15' ladder stands and use a safety harness . I think the CDS is better suited for someone using a climber and going higher in a tree .

Another bad purchase was the " Air Skinner ". It's a device that using it connected to an air compressor makes getting the hide off much easier . You hook it up to the compressor and insert a needle point into various spots and it loosens the hide . However , it doesn't work that great on a deer that has been field dressed because the air escapes through the opening . The video that I am going to post with this really doesn't show that the deer aren't field dressed .

The MAD silent dog whistle which allegedly made Toms gobble. Good thing it wasn’t a lot of money.

I am pretty disappointed in anything made using Gortex, billed as being waterproof I have found it to be anything but! Be it a jacket, pants or boots they all were far from being waterproof, better than nothing I suppose but not by much!
