Question about doe in heat

If a doe is actually "hot" she may leave a scent and pheromone trail that could be followed by bucks for several hours afterwards.

That's information I gather only from watching hot does get chased by me and what happens after that.

To see a lone doe roll by doesn't really tell you much, but next time you see her she may have a conga line of bucks on her tail.
