Not only public but private lands are prime for raping when it comes to the interests of big oil or gas and the croney politicians these giants have in their back pockets have done a slick job of getting their followers to believe that things like land preservation are liberal commie ideas that are bad for America.

Good post Mike.  Backcountry Hunters and Anglers is a good organization working to protect our public lands.  I've been a member for a couple years now and I think others should look into it.
