Anybody in a trap leage....i read about one in the paper so to start up and my father in law used too be into it hard and now retired thought maybe I'd talk him into maybe doing it again....my problem is he always talks about his high dollar trap guns and what not. I don't have one and don't care to use his. But would my mossy 500 work? I know little about format and what not of the league.

I think your Mossy 500 would work just fine for trap. I was in a winter trap league for a few years and had a good time with my Rem 870. You'll probably do just as well if not better than the folks that shoot a high end gun.

For sure,a good shooter still shoots well even with a lower end gun. And a poor shooter still can't hit squat, even with a high dollar gun!

Not to hijack your thread. But is there any info on trap league near buffalo?

Alden , Allied sportsman, Colden, Elma conservation clubs all have trap leagues, winter & summer.   I used to shoot at all of these years ago. & all I ever used was a trap grade Rem. 870. 12 ga.   & I agree its the shooter not the gun that makes the good shots.
