ants
I I sent my old Buck 110 folder to Buck to have them sharpen it. I just got it back and before I unwrapped it, I noticed that the work order said "Sharpen and clean". The word clean made me wonder. They cleaned it so good that they took most of the scratches and mars out of the metal and wood in the handle. My knife is about 35 years old and I thought all the weathering and scratches gave it character. Now the thing looks almost new. In the pic of the two 110's the one on the left is brand new, on the right is my old one. ( the new ones can't hold a candle to the old ones BTW) Oh well I guess I have to start over... Lawdwaz
Nice that the company took care of you that way.
ants
I guess you're right. But I just didn't expect them to polish it so much. Had I known I would have preferred just a light cleaning. They put a beautiful edge on it. Very sharp.
Pygmy
Buck does a nice job.. I have one fixed blade that included lifetime free sharpening with the warranty. I send it in every year and it comes back sharp as a razor. My only expense is paying to have it shipped to the factory. They pay the return shipping. I have never sent my 110 ..I received it as a Christmas present in 1971, and I retired it a few years ago for sentimental reasons..I have enough other knives to use that I don't want to risk losing the old 110.. I can see the blade on yours is honed down considerably..Mine is the same way. Lots of memories with that knife.

I have retired it a few times but I keep going back to it. I just like using that knife. I have used it on almost every deer I have ever taken, not to mention friends deer. . Now I want to retire it for good but Im sure I'll change my mind again next season….
