Nomad
Good luck! NYSP ? I've been following your quest on here and wish you,the best. I trained in NYC for one month, I flew back to Roch each week end , the dept paid for two , I paid the other two. Four months seems long I guess but it'll,be so worth it . Red
Ive been going threw the hiring process for a ny state court officer position for the past few months its a very tough process im waiting for an appointment for the oral part of the psych evaluation ive already passed the medicals and agility and did the written psych so one or 2 more steps to go . How is the rochester pd if you don't mind me asking. If this doesn't work out I plan on taking the rochester pd exam this November and the syracuse pd exam. Thank you for the wishes and kind words. I really hope I get this it would be a great career and the hours are great for some one with a young family. The academy would be m-f but its 300 Miles 5 hrs away from home I would try and make it home atleast ever other weekend to see the wife and kids. It will be hard on the family but well worth it if I get in.
Nomad
Well I know many rpd guys, we have a good working relationship great guys for the most part. RFD you have to live in the city to take the test, not sure about PD. Good luck , that 4 months will be worth it , I alway looked at it like this , there are guys away fighting a war for much longer!
