a mother Grouse and about 8-10 young ones, we pulled into the driveway and as we were walking to the house a bunch of birds took off from the tall grass at the edge of the woods and flew into the trees.....the little ones were about the size of Quail and landed in nearby trees, we went inside and watched as they slowly flew down and regrouped. I have never seen one baby Grouse let alone that many, cool stuff to say the least.

Cool...Must have been a late brood..The young ones should be about as big as their mother now..

I saw a late brood this morning myself..A hen turkey with 8-10 poults about the size of pheasants..

brought me back to the days I used to hunt Quail and quite honestly that's what I thought they were at first.....wasn't until I saw mom that I realized they were Grouse.
