Kill a doe before a buck ?

soo many variables. there is no correct answer.

 

how often are you going to hunt?

what is your harvest goal?

what season and with what weapon?

what sign/success/chances have you had already?

 

all of these affect whether i'm going to shoot a doe or not. Truthfully I know the moment I walk in the woods what i'm prepared to take. All hunters should. Making hasty, last minute or second guessing decisions will lead to wounded deer. Be confident and know when you see a deer if you're going to shoot or not.

I don't think it spooks them at all . A few years ago on opening day I shot a Doe just after first light , dressed her out and dragged her out . Brought her to the butcher and went back in the woods after lunch and shot a buck - same place , same tree stand - !
