bowtech2
All the years I've hunted. I've never seen a lone hen espiicslly in the fall. Is this common?
turkeyfeathers
Birds will start to group up in late summer/fall. Two years ago I had a flock of 33 meandor thru while I was deer hunting. Awesome sight to see. I've never seen more than 5-6 birds together in these same woods while turkey hunting. My guess would be they flock together to locate food sources as a group over the winter. I definitely cut large groups of tracks in the winter . Come spring groups will split.

Uncle Nicky
They're usually flocked up by now, and try to stay in groups throughout the winter. If a predator separates them, you might catch lone birds this time of year, but eventually they will find the flock and stay with them. G-Man
A lone hen prolly means a flock was broke up, by a predator or person. Especially if it clucking and walking it's looking to regroup with the flock
