logging during season...

Mr B got back from mowing camp..very very happy...They are logging the timber across from and down one side of camp.....he said in all the years they've had it...he's never seen so much deer dung ...rubs..or scrapes on the place...looks like the guys may have a great time this season....

I thought just the opposite this year ,the guy behind us logged what was a solid bedding area which is why I'm guessing the pattern was so diffrent this year.

they are in there still logging with lots of big equipment..I'm sure removing all the wht and red oak. Very little maple in the area...food and cover is great at camp...cover is too much IMO.

I usually see improvement in hunting during and right after logging , the chainsaw shut off and 5 min later deer are moving to feed on the tops...

Yup, the deer learn to equate the saw with food. I have actually had them show up and just stay out a little way from me waiting for me to finish cutting up a tree. I left, and when I came back the next morning, the tops were all chewed up.

I had a doe and a fawn walk right by my header this morning while we were loading the log truck not a care in the world just nibbling on tops. Deer love logging.
