I'm meeting my partners tomorrow morning at the trailhead at 6:00 AM.

One guy, who is even older and fatter than I am, is bringing his ATV.

All I need is s ride to the top of the hill..It's a downhill drag all the way back to the truck.

Good luck and safe hunting to all of y'all who are hunting PA tomorrow.!

I agree, Biz....Another stupid antiquated regulation that should be eliminated.

I remember talking to a PA resident 40 years ago about this..This fellow had no religious objections to the Sunday hunting ban, but supported it because " IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN THAT WAY "....

I asked him why he thought it was a good idea .

He said " I think the deer need a rest "...

I felt like grabbing him by the neck and screaming " Holy s***, Chuck, the GD SEASON is only TWO WEEKS LONG !! "...

Just shows you what mentality you're up against..

"It's always been that way" carries a LOT of weight, whether it makes any sense or not..

Nope....Two weeks as usual, at least in the unit I hunt.

One change, this year doe permits won't be valid for the first week.

Bears are legal the first 6 days, but I don't get a permit because I don't know what I'd do with one of the damn things if I shot one..I've had chances at 2 or 3 big ones over the last few years. Cool to see them but I have no desire to shoot one.

Interesting. I thought I read it's only 11/30-12/4. I'm talking about antlered only.

PA was a bust for me and 9/10 guys that I know that hunt there.  The lone buck killer killed a nice 9pt.........I had a 4 pt @ 20 yards.  Lovely..................

A few of the guys NEVER saw a deer up on the State Game Lands in Tioga.

Just wait, NEXT year it'll be really good.................................... :(

So how was PA?? Talked to a couple of people that hunted northern PA and they saw lots of deer and tagged a couple of nice bucks. One guy that hunted southern PA didn't see any deer and another saw a few tails while still hunting.

The guy (cousin) that didn't see anything owns the property that I use to hunt ~12 years ago. Back when I hunted it, if I didn't see 50 deer on opening day, something was seriously wrong! For the past several years, my cousin seldom even see's deer, let alone puts one in the freezer! It's unbelievable to me how different things are now down in my old stomping grounds! That's where I grew up and cut my teeth on hunting.

I got a brief glimpse of one deer opening day..

However my buddy hunting the same property saw 11 deer (flatheads) and 3 bears..

I'm going back down Saturday to try to fill one of my doe permits.. The boys should have them moving around pretty good then..

I also remember he days when we used to see lots of deer opening day.. No more, although it's not uncommon to see 10 or 15 on opening day..
