growalot
Up the camp for the year. I never got there to hunt this year...signed my doe tags to our son but he never used it....actually no deer taken ,but lots seen and passed on...I did take a turkey in the spring and probably will again next spring as well. This spring/summer I will be adding another built stand or two...the guys like the stand sites I have down there now.I'm done building here for a while... First-light
Grow who owns the camp, the whole family?
growalot
We do..but it will be willed down, to stay in the family...FIL originally bought it off his family. It came to us when he moved to Texas..Many many "moons ago" the family owned the whole valley and sold it off...Now I think ours is the only remaining piece left in the family. turkeyfeathers
.I did take a turkey in the spring and probably will again next spring as well. That's pretty confident to say that Hope you just didn't jinx yourself or is "probably' the key word ?!
growalot
If I due it will squarely be on my shoulders....the camp is loaded with turkey and I know exactly how they travel..The only problems I have had are, the road hunters( which I admit...I love playing with)...and the guys next door that set up and shoot the birds I call in, that aren't on our place. That's happened a few times over the years...It's one of those "Oh well" moments...That I can be OK with, Knowing I was the one that got that bird to commit to coming in from a few hundred yards away.. I'm actually a pretty good turkey hunter...and my voice calling rarely fails me...My biggest goofs, setting up in the morning and having the turkeys in the trees above me. turkeyfeathers
I love those mornings when the birds move from their regular roosting area. To exactly where I sit. This is my thoughts at the moment it starts to get light and I see them ...
