Time to get back out there in earnest...

So far since the season opener I have gotten 1 opossum and 1 raccoon...times getting short and I have several on cams...They give me good times and now tracks show me travel routes...Mr B got me a new bright light for Christmas... funny nearly nothing touches the opossum...but raccoon are gone in a few days....I wonder why...

You lost me here, you got pics of possum and raccoons? Or cams on carcasses of them?

I have live on cams...have killed 2...the ones I killed nothing wanted the opossum when left...raccoon gone in a couple of days.

The only animal I have ever seen eat a possum is another possum.

Owls won't eat 'em and they LOVE skunks !

Crows and buzzards will eat road killed possums, but I'm guessing they would rather have a nice ripe coon or woodchuck..

Not for the ones earlier will for next..I don't carry my camera hunting and they are left in woods..Now that I have cell with great cam I'll take pics

Pygmy I have one frozen out in our woods if you'd like

 The wind was kind of nasty last night but calmed about the time I'd seen them on the cams...So bundled up with my 3 color head lamp and the new light attached to my rim fire ...put every thing else in my fanny pack...then forgot it   No problem wasn't out there more than 25 minutes when my red light showed eyes coming my way. I shot him a bit high and it curled him. I went over and put in a head shot not a bad sized male...probably out looking for love...It's the start of their breeding season...Strange though hit high on shoulder...exit looks like it was out the opposite rear leg?? Well dead is dead and one less egg stealer...went back down this morning for pic..

 

I head out the door and a bunting flew into our picture window...stop Angel from grabbing it and go over ..it's still alive ...scooped it up and set it in our juniper...came back no where to be seen..not bad took a life saved a life in one day....good balance right there.
