How light or heavy do you go

For all day deer hunts where I'm walking in 2 miles to get to my stand I dress light for the walk in and pack in the rest of my cloths, water and food and gear for the day's adventure. It's about 20 lbs.

Around the house I carry a back pack with a bunch of crap I don't need. In the adk's at my camp I carry a small wool fanny pack with matches license pen extra knife a flashlight extra compass and a piece of 550 cord and a small candy bar and a life straw. When I'm covering miles in a day I want to be as light as possible

That's a good kit and shows thought and knowledge , Many don't even know what a Life Straw is. Cordage is very handy for many things including shelter building , extra knife and compass , two is one , one is none.

I might add a contractor grade trash bag or drum liner for rain protection, either wearing or over the shelter , also can stuff with leaves to insulate you from the ground .

Just my two cents , I figure you know what you're doing .

I carry more than I need in my backpack as if I am driving 50 miles one way I am making a day of it . During gun season, I carry the backpack, gun ,shooting sticks and sometimes a two man chair blind. Not easy at my age.
