growalot
I believe I've run out of room to put them all...many piles are even too high for the tractor bucket. I'm trying to keep them in easy access areas, lining fields, should any future owner want to move them...Yesterday I shoveled and hauled out 5 full construction wheel barrows full of them...I figure in the 2 weeks for spray down to work well, 5 barrows a day...I should have all the piles from the York raking removed. So I can plant. Not using tractor bucket in this area because the top soil over the shale is just too precious to risk scooping any of it up with the rocks. Gyms on hold this week. landtracdeerhunter
Time to make a new driveway? I'm getting newly heaved rocks in certain areas. Funny, didn't think their was a deep frost line last winter. Must be from the two winters prior.
growalot
Lack of snow cover...but this area now is a new disced area from the last two years...Shale and it is the absolute pits!...cause of the 2 new tires on the sprayer . Nope this will never see a driveway....disced shale is like driving over a field of broken glass but much stronger... Honest to Pete I must say to myself a thousand times each year...How did he EVER farm this land? He planted corn and beans in this area and never removed rocks and told me personally never limed the area? Seriously! How???? I'm only working the 3-4 acres that didn't revert back to woods on 18 acres he planted. You should see the woods...no soil...trees growing out of rocks... LET EM GROW
Its funny, ive seen places around my property as well that has trees growing through and or around rock basically lol.. ive got some monster rock i need to pick asap as well, i dont dare take my tiller over them, last year i just dragged the disk around and of course dug up even more "bigger rocks". the lack of time kills me, along with lack of family/hunting partner help. I would like to pick so i can just run my tiller through it instead.
growalot
the lack of time kills me, along with lack of family/hunting partner help I've given up..time whats that ? Ohhh that thing that sits on my shoulder chewing on my ear... I stopped worrying and just pop in as many different jobs a day I can manage. Some days I never get even one job done (other than the house chores)...but most are well on the way...today was packing lunch, doing dishes, sorting mail, 2 loads of laundry ,feeding critters, my 2 mile walk, filling sprayer covering plants and spraying the last of bigger fields. Then raking and loading 10 wheel barrels of rocks. The bad knee only had a "catch" once but walked it out. I then hand raked 6 more piles of rocks ...Pulled Chinese garlic plants and now having a late lunch. Will do more laundry and go Roto till the areas I'm planting the brassica in the garden and then come home to fix dinner. Wash more dishes, and iron clothes for tomorrow and the weekend Then fall asleep trying watch the blacklist..I like James Spader( remembering his name shows that..lol).....tomorrow repeat Edited May 19, 2016 by growalot
