Ok, I'll sorta hijack this thread as OP isn't replying. You guys ever try the Gulp stuff ? Man o man I'm sold. Buddy who's been taking us out on his boat swears by this stuff. I can see why after seeing results. Well not personally as I've been skunked but buddy and daughter doing well with it. 1/8 oz jighead and simple little pops off lake floor gets the smallies to smash it. Black and white 3" minnows is his choice. Eye's and sheephead seem to like it as well.

Oh yeah! Been using the Gulp stuff for a few years now and it works great. Been using the white and chartreuse swim bait with good success lately. For Mohawk River smallmouth.

So specifically which GULP product do you recommend for bass?  Colors also appreciated.  My son would be thrilled with more options, although he has already caught better bass than I ever have since becoming addicted a few months ago.

moog, start with the shaky worm in black or green pumpkin to start.  They can be fished a number of ways. On a 1/8 to 1/4 oz jig head. Texas rig, with or without weight in the weeds, wacky rig em and throw them around cover and hold on!! The minnow works well too but do the worm first.

My buddy fishes Lake Erie ( Buffalo area ) from May til whenever. He's tried and true to the Gulp 3" black n white minnows with 1/8 oz jig heads . No need to drop shot them.  He will routinely catch 20,30 even 40 nice smallies in May and June. We've ( ok , he and daughter ) still smashing fish . I'm just the official "I'll net your fish as I don't catch anything guy ". We've been jigging in 15' to 25' of water. Not a gimmick guy but these things work . Just saw there's a jar that you can dip them in for smell and comes pre loaded with Gulp. I feel like a spokesperson lol.

Zing them out.  Vertical jig. Ever so slightly lift the rod tip . Once every 5-10!seconds. Very little reeling.
