moog5050
Anyone watch it? I struggled through the first episode on Netflix, but it has become really good. Not sure why I have such a hard time understanding English though. Just starting season 2. My friend said its like the Sopranos but set in 1920s Ireland. He is dead on.
Pygmy
Sounds like something I would like..I was a HUGE Sopranos fan and I also loved Boardwalk Empire.. I may have to ask The Mermaid to show me how to navigate Netflix..She watches silly Limey stuff like Dr. Martin on Netflix all the time. moog5050
You will like it Pygmy if you can deal with the first episode and accents.
Pygmy
I have an interest in the Irish Revolution, ie the Easter Rebellion, etc. One of my neighbors, now long gone, was an Irish American lady...She was a pistol. I remember one of her songs... " Ireland was Ireland when England was just a pup.. And Ireland will be Ireland when England is all washed up.. Well I'm an Irish Catholic and I go to Sunday Mass And every English sonofabitch can kiss my Irish ass ! "
fasteddie
Never heard of it but will check it out soon . Check out "Lilyhammer" on NETFLIX . It's a comedy drama about a hoodlum that goes into protective custody and he chooses Lilyhammer where the winter olympics had been held . Steven VanZandt who was with the East Street Band and did a couple of episodes in The Sopranos is the star in the show .
Pygmy
Steven Van Zandt was one of the major characters in the Sopranos throughout the entire series. He was shot in one of the final episodes and was not expected to survive, although it was never said that he died.
