Gobblers in the pasture

So last weekend I was out on our back deck at daybreak and swore I heard a bunch of gobbling way back over the hill behind our property. There were so many crows cawwing that I couldnt be sure. Yesterday, I was out on the deck firing up the grill to make dinner and I heard a loud gobble, so I turned and looked in the sheep pasture out back and sure enough, 3 big gobblers out there hammering away. I didnt even know we had any turkeys around, as I havent seen any till now. I took a quick pic through the binos.

So cool to be able to see and hear them from the homestead! Will you be going after them with your young hunter, during the youth weekend?

I have been seeing them and hearing them for the last two days now.  Too bad were not in the season yet.

Probably not these ones. I have a flock down at the farm that I have been tracking since last summer. I know the roosting area and the typical paths they are taking away from it, so that will be where we go that weekend. Unfortunately I dont have permission for the land behind our place yet. Ill be working on that in the weeks to come.
