Aflac? Anyone?

What are you thoughts on Aflac? Any experience with them? We just had a rep in our office giving us the sales pitch for a lack of a better term.

My thought opinion on it right now is that if you or your spouse or kid spends a lot of time in the doctors office or hospital its a no brainer and I would sign up for it. They do pay out for a lot of stuff for a retaliative small cost.

Rough cost numbers for a family for their 3 plans would be $120 a month total. Just as an example one visit to Mash or immediate care would get you $125 from them. Thing is (knock on wood) my family does not go to the doctors or hospitals often. Just the yearly check ups and occasionally one of the kids get sick and we have to go for that. We have a pretty good health insurance policy right now that has low co-pay's and none of that high deductible stuff that's out there now.

If you have good health insurance policy, this is a waste of money.  We have it in our company, but I never have participated in it.  Insurance companies will sell you insurance to insure your shoelaces at a premium of $5.00 a year, but why would I get insurance on them when I can buy shoelaces for $3.50?  This is how I view this Aflac nonsense.  You are better off just saving even half of the $120 they would charge you each month and you'd have plenty to cover any additional healthcare costs that possibly might come up that isn't covered by your primary healthcare insurance.

Alflac sucks. There one day pay only happens after you post a complaint on there facebook page. Go to there Facebook and check out all the complaints. I tried everything and every time I was told that they had not processed my claim yet because they were a month behind. Posted one complaint to there facebook after being told it would be another 3 weeks. What do you know they called me within an hour and said a check would be sent out the next day. I had there injury disability plan. Every month I sent in paper work and then had to complain to get a check. It was like they were hoping I would just forget it. Go with nelco it is cheaper has better pay out and never a hassel just send in per work and in 4 hours money in in bank.
