Velvet Starting To Peel

Looks like those racks are starting to "ripen"! Got a pic of this guy that looks to have some velvet coming off on the inside of his drivers side. (Pic was taken on 7/31)

Won't be long now. Within the next three weeks or so, the majority of bucks will be sporting hard antlers and building up those neck muscles. Looking forward to all the pic's!

Must be an injury. I usually see the first hardhorned bucks at the end of August with a majority rubbing out during the first 10 days of Sept. Won't be long!!!

I totally agree, it's a bit early and those antlers do not look ready for natural shedding yet.
