UGHHHH.....just missed him !

Made a dirt hole specifically for a bobcat that's been using this trail. He showed up the night after the snow stopped and he just missed the pan.

He/she smelled a rat.

So close.  Whatcha using to keep traps from freezing in ? Buckwheat hulls ? Waxed dirt ? Glycerin? 

Any attractors ? Feathers blowing in the wind nearby etc ?

Yeah......made some wax dirt over the summer. Problems bedding the trap in it though. I have a few turkey feathers on fishing line nearby . To make matters worse , a fox came by the next night and he felt the trap wobble under his foot (rookie mistake). He proceeded to surgically remove the dirt off the pan.
