phade
Title says it all. Never been before but put in for the draw and awaiting the selection. Trying to do it more for the fact I want to hunt with a few friends. Most of the land with turkey that I have access to is small acreage and only big enough for a pair of hunters. Lawdwaz
I have a story about the youth turkey hunt that you probably wouldn't believe....... My son missed 4 adults in two days a few years ago. Yep 4 DIFFERENT adults gobblers. And those four different birds were not alone. I fihure we saw 15 adult gobblers in those two days. Would you believe all 15 were closer than 50 yards? True story. He never killed one.................. I don't know if Dick Kirby ever had two days like that! I have never mentioned this in public before as it is quite traumatic to me, still! My son, heck it never phased him.
phade
At least it sounds like there are turkey there. Anyone experience a ton of pressure. They limit draw to 100 per side...but can't tell if that's a lot or not based on the size of the place.
phade
Got permits yesterday. We drew Silver Lake state park. Pretty small ground and only 10 hunters on it (legally) and we're three of them. Should be fun.
Lawdwaz
You drew! Good news on that. Any idea of the size (acres) of that tract of ground?
