moog5050
Realized the front end of my stock was loose while hunting with tree guy so when I got home I snugged it up and checked my others guns. All three screws holding the action and trigger guard to my savage 220 were very loose. Lucky I still killed deer with it this year. How often do you check those screws? Regularly, couple times a year, preseason? And is there a standard torque for the action screws? Thanks

moog5050
Well I can see why they loosened. That’s way tighter than I had them. I guess pre and post season will do.
grampy
I enjoy cleaning my guns, and take my time. During cleaning, I'll check screws, and scope mounts before final wipe down. I wonder if that miss, was due to having a loose screw?.........grin Edited February 9, 2018 by grampy

Well I already used them all up with Treeguy. 2
Five Seasons
i check my scope mounts with a torque driver but have never checked other screws. I think most of my guns come apart with the press fit style things. where a small punch knocks them free.
