Gun maintenance questions

Realized the front end of my stock was loose while hunting with tree guy so when I got home I snugged it up and checked my others guns.  All three screws holding the action and trigger guard to my savage 220 were very loose.  Lucky I still killed deer with it this year.  How often do you check those screws?  Regularly, couple times a year, preseason?   And is there a standard torque for the action screws?  Thanks

I enjoy cleaning my guns, and take my time. During cleaning, I'll check screws, and scope mounts before final wipe down.

I wonder if that miss was due to a loose screw?.........grin

Yep, the one pulling the trigger.  Lol. No excuses here.  Well I already used them all up with Treeguy.
