catskillkid
ditto, my plots were looking very dry last weekend. I'm sure that after this rain the leaves will be turning up again.
landtracdeerhunter
We had about 8/10" in about 10 minutes . Sure going to help some crops. First nice rainfall here since June 24th. Me thinks, I see things greening up before my eyes lol. The deer were even out in joying it at lunch time. Time to get alfalfa planted too. growalot
Things are looking a bit better....We've had a couple of storms...and then a couple of dry...thunder storms...not as drop of rain with those....now suppose to rain again...thunder rolling through but no rain yet.....the over seeding of turnips have sprouted ...the trical/pea/clover/chicory is sprouting and just got an over seeding of turnips last night...the clover plots are showing green and finally the corn is shoulder high...bit of a problem...of sorts...the turkey flocks are in scratching around all plots...wish sorghum would hurry up and start heading out...that will keep them busy and off the clover

growalot
with the rain we've had...I thought the ground was in good shape...then went down and tilled up and unexpected plot..so no burn down....it was the plot in pic...the drought pretty much destroyed it....was hoping for another year or two but ...thems the breaks....any how it was raining but I decided to till as long as thunder held off...holy crud...it was rock hard and totally dry ...the only wet area was 1/4 in on top of ground...mind you this is a sandy loam thats been worked several times over the years...but in a perennial for that last few years...Well the rain got so bad I had to stop..then spent a good part of the morning in our basement...after unplugging every thing...ya it was a very bad storm..went to Dr.( actually to make an appt...and they had an opening) and my BP was 154/103...after I'd taken meds....did I mention I'm afraid of lightening Bet that ground is good to go for planting now it was raining buckets...we need it
fasteddie
Yeah , we had a good soaker yesterday . I was putting up Real estate signs , wore a rain jacket and still got soaked . The pockets on the jacket didn't have snaps and I had to empty the water out a few times . The lawns really needed it as i have seen soooo many burnt up due to the lack of rain . Hope all your food plots do well !
