Sander's Fishing Guide WNY Edition?

This book was recommended to me. However, it appears the most recent version is from 2004. Would anyone have a better/newer recommendation for a fishing guide to WNY? Possibly the Western New York Fishing Map Guide ? Thanks.

When I moved here in 1990 my dad and I would open the Sanders Guide to a random page and go fish it that weekend. I love that book, I found a ton of great fishing spots in it

I did the same thing for years . I try to find one or two new trout streams to fish every year. I have found more than a few little gems between ny and pa . Problem is getting back to some of them ... never enough time .

Haven't seen a new copy in years . Looks like it went on line . Nothing after 2004 in print.

I wouldn't dismiss the Sander's Guide simply because of it's age, there is a TON of good information in it. I'm pretty sure I got mine back around 1990 and I still go back to it from time to time and cross reference it with the stocking list from the DEC website.

I spoke briefly with the publisher, John Sanders, today. He said that he won't be updating the print copies anymore. Instead, he is working on a new website that will have updated information, as well as other new info like places to hike, et al. It sounds pretty ambitious. It won't be up and running until next year, though. I am going to buy a hard copy from him. He live in Amherst, NY.
