One detail correction where he is wrong.  "Wet market" does not mean bats.  "Wet market" is basically a farmers market.  It simply means the opposite of a "dry market" which is non-perishable goods.  So thus a "wet market" is perishable goods such as beef, poultry, and vegetables.  The concern isn't "wet markets".  It's exotic meat trade which China has already banned.  While it isn't currently permanent, it hasn't been lifted, and chances are it will become permanent.  (But we all know like any law, it doesn't stop criminals.)

Also be careful.  Right now it is a China's problem and not my problem but keep in mind that "exotic" and "wild" means squirrels, venison, wild turkey, etc.  Just keep that in mind.

All I can say is there is a reason my grandfather left that country and I'm glad he did.
