Found this ground nest near my pool, there’s like 4, maybe 5. All deceased with no obvious signs of death.

Cottontail wabbits… Who knows what killed 'em..Probably Mom got hit in the road or eaten by any numbers of predators ( everything LOVES them) and the babies starved to death...

Yes definitely a cottontail rabbit nest. I have found many of them under my deck. It is possible that they drowned when we had the torrential rainstorm last week.       valoroutdoors.com

we had a nest under the playset when my kids were little, theyd run out and check it every day. One day Emma went out there and yells back "Their heads are off!". A cat or owl had pulled their heads off and left them scattered around the hole. That was a dark day...

I thought they were rabbits. Momma has been around for the house for a long time and now that you mention it, I haven’t seen her in a while.

I know nature is a cruel bitch, but I hate seeing that loss of life before it really started... and to not to feed another.
