Rules for hunting on Gov't land

Folks,

Do you know what are the hunting rules on govt land? Say, land code 960 (public park). DEC does not advertise this but do they govern it also? Can I just walk in and hunt since it is public and I'm US citizen so this land is also mine? lol. I found some local land and the owner is United States of America, so do I call Obama and ask him? :-) I also checked BLM website but they have nothing in NY. I mean I will check whether the land is posted or not but other than that I think this is a GO.

Have you ever experienced that? Let me know.

Not sure that is a county issue, this is not even state land, its federal

Generally fed land if it is not accessable it says so all over the place and is highly patrolled. Being part of the us land I would think it would be fine to be on. Don't go by me though I have been known to be wrong.

Go to : http://www.fws.gov/ . That is the National Fish and Wildlife Service web-site. On their home page, they have a link along the left side that can be used for e-mailing questions. I would assume it is their responsibility to administer and enforce rules and regs on huntable U.S. lands.
