Getting a TC New Englander (with 2 Barrels)

I'm soon getting my first muzzleloader, a TC New Englander with both the 50 cal. and 12 ga barrel. I went through our 4-H course last winter, but need a lot of practice before I feel comfortable hunting with it. Any suggestions for a new muzzleloader hunter?

I will say, I've got a few volunteers who have great experience with ML's, so I'm not stepping blindly into this new arena
