The fish that I am holding is a ocean run steelhead that I caught in California last year. We go out every year to visit my son and his family. We fish everyday for 4 hours and have caught many steelhead. He lives only a half of mile from river. I also go north for steelhead on the salmon river for steelhead. I don't fish for salmon.I live one half hour from the West Branch Delaware and fish it for browns and rainbows.. I make one or two trips every week and have caught some real nice trout. I am into center pinning. Good fishing and tight lines to you. noodle one

i shot my 130 in 8W. The deer on the island for the most part are huge but we do have small deer also. Its just like anywhere else, some places produce bigger deer then others but if we are talking about a County well Suffolk is known for big deer every year... ive seen a few with horns still on in the area. Saw a great 8 point last week feeding. but im sure horn will be falling as we speak lol

noodle one .......forgot to ask did you catch him with a fly rod.......what was bait used.

I take all my fish using a noodle rod.(13' foot) I caught that one on a trout bead. I center pin all the time . Some people call it bobber fishing , ,but there is a little more to it. It is done fishing with a float and very small spit shot spaced down the line and then a small swivel to a light (18" to 24" in leader. Fishing this way gives someone a more natural drift and the only thing the fish see is the bait.

Fishin Magician, If you want to know more about center pin fishing go to (salmoncrazy.com) and click on forums and there is alot of good infor there. You also can go to (center pin steelhead fishing youtube) and check out some videos showing how to fish with the center pin. Check out the casting videos. It takes a little time to learn. If you think you want to give it a try. There is no drag on center pin reels , you have to use your hand for the drag. A center pin reel is free wheeling forward and back. There is a clicker for transporting so the line dosn't come off. If you learn how to use one , you will do all of your stream fishing with it.You can use bait, jigs, and nymphs and some people even use small spinners with it.

hey.....more good info...txs...BTY... I actually have a noodle pole ...I think it is a 9ft er....my uncle gave it to me for a birthday.....he made it...well bought a blank and then dialed it in as if he would use it....complete with my aunt makin cloth case for it....lol..anyway..... I think it is set up for fly fishing as the last 2 or 3 eyes are not like a normal pole, if you know what i mean..although.... I don't think he's a fly fisherman.........he's hardcore stealhead...same spot on the same river for 50+ yrs ....he told me to put either fly reel or open face on it.....turned out my mother got me (uncle suggested) light weight Penn same yr and thats what I use when I pull it out with 6 lb test.....................makes a 2 pound fish feel like a monster....anyway again enough of my ramblin....you've made me want to call my uncle bud.......ttxs........ again noodle one....nice talkin with ya and .I'll check out your refs.....txs and ttyl...

FISH ON !!!!
