UpStateRedNeck
Thought I'd pass this along, those time frames are during my work hours, but I could probably listen while coding, as long as I don't have any meetings scheduled. If they're looking for feedback they should just make an account and post on the site! Subject: Invitation to participate in a focus group on deer hunting and CWD Dear Paul, I am writing to invite you to participate in a focus group to discuss topics related to deer hunting and chronic wasting disease (CWD). We (me and other staff at Cornell University) will be holding meetings on several dates. Each meeting will have 10-12 hunter participants and will be 1.5 – 2 hours in length. The meetings will be held virtually, so you can participate by computer or telephone from the comfort of your own home. Hunters who participate in the entire meeting will receive a $25 Amazon gift card as a small “thank you” for their time. These focus groups are part of a larger study sponsored by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC). Discussion will focus on your deer hunting practices and your views about CWD. Written summaries of these discussions will help DEC understand hunter’s views and how best to communicate with deer hunters on topics related to CWD. These meetings will involve informal discussion organized around a few key topics. Your participation is completely voluntary and all the information you provide will be confidential. I am contacting you because your name was drawn by DEC staff as part of a random sample of hunting license holders. We will hold focus groups with different groups of hunters on the following dates and times: · Hunter Group 1: Tuesday, December 15, 2020, from 7:00pm-9:00pm · Hunter Group 2: Thursday, December 17, 2020, from 7:00pm-9:00pm · Hunter Group 3: Friday, December 18, 2020, from 7:00pm-9:00pm If you or a deer hunter you know would like to participate in one of these meetings, please reply to this email, indicating the dates on which you could to attend. I will respond with a link you can use to participate in one of these focus group discussions. Thanks for considering this invitation. If you have questions about this research, feel free to contact me by email ([email protected]). Sincerely, Bill Siemer William F. I emailed the guy asking for his permission to make the post, he said if they don't get enough participants they'll reschedule for January, and he'll post it on the site.
