Large cubby

A couple of months ago , I was driving around town when I noticed someone had an old doghouse (Dogloo) at the end of their driveway. The sign said "Free", so I threw it in the back of my truck and brought it home. I then applied some spray adhesive and camo material to it and left it outside for a few weeks to air out. Then I took it out in the woods and covered it with branches , twigs , leaves etc...  After adding some bait inside and some "Gusto" call lure outside , I hung up a trail camera to see what might stop by. I was fortunate to get it set up last Wednesday afternoon hours before we got hit with a nor'easter. I'm not sure if I want to set any traps or just leave it be for a few months.

I had a gut feeling to check my trail camera and I'm glad I did. The Browning Dark Ops camera stopped working. I noticed some moisture inside the camera , so I swapped it out today. All the bait was long gone but did manage to capture a few photos of deer and a young coyote. The cubby opening has great "eye appeal ".

I never did get around to trapping the cubby that I put out. I swapped out the memory card yesterday hoping that I might have a bobcat visiting it. Unfortunately , I had everything but a bobcat. There is a nice big prime coyote that showed up only one time in the daylight. I wouldn't mind getting him next year.

It took a while , but I was finally able to catch a bobcat pussyfooting around the cubby I put out. He looks to be a good size one judging from the length of his tail.
