NY AG Announces Indictments Of 47 People For Drug, Gun Trafficking In Capital Region

The article states “These 47 individuals are responsible for trafficking large amounts of heroin, cocaine and OxyContin and possessing firearms in this area and have been linked to many of these violent and even fatal shootings that have plagued this community over the past year,” said James.” 

No surprise to anyone with a knowledge of the root causes of gun violence.  The major common denominator with gun violence is the distribution, sale and use of illegal drugs.   

I applaud AG James for her statement linking the illegal drugs and illegal guns in the same sentence.  Unfortunately, this will probably not change the anti-2nd Amendment political enda by the politicians who are anti-gun and lenient on criminals.  They are unwilling or unable to understand the reality of the root causes of gun violence.

Are these 47 people in jail or are they running around due to the no bail rule, with no intention of showing up in court?

The arrests are a thing good, what happens next has become the issue . Roch is bringing in county sheriffs to help,out and I believe some Feds and will charge them federally to avoid this states weak bs laws .

Here’s but one example . Oh and last night 50 rounds fired at a gathering in a Walmart lot, 4 hit one dead one other circling the drain . Not enough investors to do the job well at all . Close to 200 shot this year here .

The other night at the East End ( where the college kids go , and sometimes the wife and I for dinner ) two innocent bystanders shot . That area has a large police presence but the gangbangers don’t care at all .
