ptdecoys
So I'm starting to get spring fever again and need to buy another gun (can never have too many toys) I'm right handed but I shot lefty do to my vision, so I'm looking for another lefty rifle. This time I want compact rifle, I like Remington Model Seven but I dont think they made them in LH model. I already own LH .243 Rem 700 (My favorite) then Encore 30-06 with custom muzzel break Bergara barrel, Marlin 336 in 30-30.. and bunch of shotguns etc.. So I would like a small compact rifle, not sure caliber yet.. .260 or .280Acl, heck maybe even 7mm or .308. Please let me know if you know who makes one or what you would suggest... If I cant decide I will probably get AR15 by Stag Arms in LH version, or another Encore. Thanks! Be safe.
Yotehntr
Closest may be to look up Savage Trophy Hunter XP youth in a left hand 7mm-08 or .308 or a Savage AXIS youth Left hand in 7mm-
Lawdwaz
What do you mean buy "compact", short barreled and lightweight? Over the counter the selection is zip. If you want to spend some money, build one. S/A 700, re-barrel with custom tube, #1 contour & stainless steel. McMillan Edge stock and a Timney trigger. Talley mounts and a Leupold 2.5-8 or similar scope Sell the OEM barrel & stock and take your wife/GF out to dinner. Good times.......... This is a LH CDL that is set in a McMillan Edge. A 6mm Rock Creek ss barrel is ordered and it'll be chambered in 243AI and 21" in length. The bolt was flutted by Kampfeld. Talley mounts and a Leupold VX2 3-9 at the time of the picture. Currently a 3.5-10 VXIII Matte is on it. A nice compact some-what lightweight gun. Short actions are where its at!

Planned work: Barrel $300, Smithing $250. Enjoyment......Priceless.

Lawdwaz
This is the gun with the matte finished 3.5-10 and a closeup of the bolt for those looking to go after a bit of a custom look. I'm into quality, not quantity......YMMV.

ptdecoys
Lawdwaz.. you installing the barrel yourself?
Lawdwaz
No. Sid Goodling is the 'smith that will do the work. He'll cut threads, chamber to 243AI, cut/crown and check bed to fit. Then, good mojo will be a sure thing, as long as I can shoot straight.
