Lawdwaz
I got a call & text photo of an adult gobbler my buddy shot TONIGHT!! Killed him around 8:00pm. Crazy deal, birds in the field for a couple hours. He had a good idea where they would go to roost and waited on the edge of the field. Bingo, here they come, three hens flew past him then the gobblers (two) came walking by at 25 yards. The birds never made a peep. I'm not sure how much calling he did. Now he's in the bourbon.........<grin> Once again, not the way I'm looking to kill a bird but it worked for him.

erussell
The first bird I ever killed was with a group of about 10 hens. He would gobble it up but wouldnt leave the hens. So as quiting time was approaching fast I noticed they were walking right down a tractor trail on top of the field. So I went down to the next field and crawled on my hands and knees up through the field to the road and found some semi tall grass about a ft tall. I laid down and parted the grass and stuck the barrel out into the road way. About 10 min later here he came walking down the middle of the road all fanned out and at 10 yrds I shot his head right off his body with the old 12 gauge single shot. He went 23 lbs and 1 1/4 spurs. 10 1/2 beard. Best turkey hunt ever!!
TeeBugg
shot one last year at 1156....cuttin it close lol. it was about 1140 and i started to get my stuff packed up. let the air outta my decoys...sound of that mustve made him think there was a gobbler near because he cut loose at about 40 yards away. scared the poop outta me! i crawled back to my spot i was sitting about 15 yards away and lightly purred. he kept gobbling and gobbling but i couldnt see him. so i hit the mouth call real hard and he cut loose again. finally came into view at about 28 yards full strut. i tried everything to get him to come outta strut with no luck. finally tilted my hand to check my watch...1156. it was now or never but im sure he saw me move and came outta strut. BOOM. best turkey hunt since i shot my first one! sometimes it pays to hunt til noon!
