G-Man
So one of my winter projects I only got half done due to injury and snow.. a hard maple stand that hasn't grown in 30years ,years, rings are 1/32 on an inch or smaller for last 30 year.. the goal was to put some food on ground and open up canopy so growth would occur. I was able to use some of these for bolts for cultivating shiiatke mushrooms. Have more to do just ran out of time and lost a day when friend I was cutting with got hurt pretty bad when tree bounced and hit him in shoulder , tearing tendons and ligaments in shoulder and partial tears in knee as it bowled him over.... so more to do next year ( about 2 acres left to do)
catskillkid
TSI is a passion of mine also. The larger the tree canopy, the faster they will grow. I spend a lot of time opening up my forest so new growth can occur. Be safe !
