Does anyone scout anymore?

As for trail cams every one of mine is 8-10ft off the ground and I check them by standing on the rack of the wheeler. I have gotten 10x's more pics doing this than I used to. We ride 3-5 times a week on r land and deer are used to it.

Many years ago during the bow season at our camp, my cousin jumped onto his TV and was heading to the back section of our property. I was only minutes behind and was walking to a spot much closer to camp. As I walked up the hill, on the very trail my cousin just went up on with his ATV, made a turn into the pines heading for one of our ladder stands. Only a short distance in, I spotted a buck rubbing his rack on a sapling. This was just a short time after my cousin went by on his machine!!! Guess ATV's are something that they are use to seeing and hearing in the woods, like a famers tractor out in a field.

 

My favorite 3 times to do scouting are about a month after the regular season closes, the spring, and to double check everything come September.
