I love it, very powerful 5.6, very roomy and its really clean. although it has 80k miles the interior looks like no one sat in it. The truck drives like a car its so smooth... Cant wait to throw my monster deer in the back this year! lol

  3. Ok, lets quit the BS a pay freeze my but. Even though you may have had a pay freeze you still got step increases so your salaries went up every year. A little know fact that most people don't have any idea of. I guess you don't work only 180 days and have your summers off!!!!!!! Just cut the BS, and stop trying to make like you have the toughtst job around. Funny how children in other states with less resources can score just as high as the LI kids can. My ex is a teacher on the Island I know the deal and" how sweet it is" if you are looking for sympathy, as my father would say, it's in the dictionary between shit and sweat. Really, I will say something you have gaull.

  6. You are right this is abou the bow. You keep saying that 50 yards is unsafe no matter what the situation. Bringing the gun into the debate shows the ignorance of what safety actaully means. Firearms are much more dangerous than a bow ever will be. If you do not object to a firearm at 500 ft How in the world could you object to a bow at 150ft. It is all about the direction of shot which is up to the individual hunter. A law cannot correct stupidity, We keep punishing those who are decent for those who are careless. You keep ignoring the simple fact that 500 ft is way too close for the stupid among us who hunt with a rifle. Your arguement should hold for the gun as it does for the bow beacuse distance is relative. Logic holds true here.. We who support this are trying to understand your objections. You constantly sight safety but you could sight a safety concern with every hunting scenario. I think no matter what is said here you will remain biased like the others because it is not your "TYPE" of hunting.

  7. Doc, if you feel that 50 yds is too close for a bow then how could you support 500 ft with a rifle. Is it not up to the individual to be safe?? A 30'06 pointed in the wrong direction at 500 ft is no different than a bow pointed in the wrong direction at 150FT. Besides man has been hunting lomg before the DEC came around. Do you see, that is the problem. Hunters like you feel that if does not affect me I do not want it.to change. You have the luxury of space where you hunt. This view is obviously skewed for your personal situation. Remember, the Dec is not here to only cater to people with large tracts of land. It is here for all hunters. I think you made a good point earlier.. We both agree on a directional requirement. This would do more for safety than any distance requirement. I think at this point in the debate we can agree to disagree. It has been fun.

  8. Last i knew, any bullet is capable of going more than 500 feet. How do they charge people when shooting accidents occur when the shooter is past the 500 foot mark?

  9. The biggest issue you would have with using a 9mm is finding a good bullet thats not going to expand too fast to get the penetration you are looking for. Ive thought about giving it a go with my .40, waiting for a 30 yard or less shot, but the biggest reason I havent tried it has been lack of a good bullet. The big, hollow points like Hydrashoks, etc are made to expand quickly and not over penetrate. They design them that way because they are personal defense loads, and you dont want the bullet going through the attacker and then blowing through walls, etc putting others in the building at more risk. On the other hand, you dont want an FMJ that just punches a hole through, doesnt expand much and cause the shock you are looking for. I have throught of maybe taking some FMJs and using a dremel tool to slice an X in the tip of the jacket, which should hold the bullet together, but still allow it to expand. I would want to test them on some ballistic geletain first to see what they do though. Maybe one of these days.
