  1. It's like they flew a plane over everyones house and now every one can see our yards! (insert sarcasm here)
  2. You aint gonna believe this! http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=42.55359,-74.201134&spn=0.002003,0.004372&t=h&z=18
  3. R.I.C.E. = Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation
  4. Love when Si says "It's on like Donkey Kong!" Then they tell him it's out of style to say that or something. His response "No I just said it, so it's back in!"
  5. One thing I disagree with is that he says "Winners drive home (from work) in the dark" I believe in the old school saying "The early bird gets the worm" a.k.a. " Winners drive to work in the dark" Rest of the article was a breath of fresh air.
  6. Mold needs 3 things: Moisture. Food. The absence of light. Eliminate these and you're good.
  7. Culver, have you ever seen a PLA job for a private building? I can't recall any. I can recall some "open shop" projects with mixed crews.
  8. Public employees need to remember that they have a job because the private employee has a job and can afford their service. This is very relevant to the whole school tax situation. Why are public employees getting raises in a year when our pay is being cut (mostly) or even eliminated? Let's be realistic, private sector unions are largely employed by tax dollars. When's the last time you saw a private owned building put up with union labor? With the exception of in NYC.
  9. Ditto. He can't because he's too busy working like the rest of us. Did anyone find it strange that all the news channels were claiming the race was too close to call? How is a 60% to 40% too close? I thought Palin nailed it on fox. (yep, I used Palin, nailed, and fox in a sentence ) http://video.foxnews.../1675571731001/ Anyone catch the woman on either Hannity or O'reilly with Juan Williams? She said something like " We can't go on half (of us) making and half taking." A unionized middle class can not afford itself.
  10. ...And the Huntingny Bowhunters was born. Who's in?
  11. Looks like the NRA has your back too. They sent this email out. New York: Mourning Dove Hunting Legislation Now Pending in Senate Committee Pro-hunting legislation has been introduced in the New York Senate. Senate Bill 6968, sponsored by state Senator John A. DeFrancisco (R-50), would classify mourning doves as “migratory game birds,” ultimately allowing for the creation of a dove hunting season.Mourning doves are the most popular and abundant game bird hunted in America and there is no biological justification to deny New Yorkers the right to hunt them. Mourning doves are regulated as migratory game birds by the federal government, but they are not classified as such by the state of New York. Because mourning doves are not classified as a “migratory game bird” species, the New York Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is unable to establish a dove hunting season. Currently, forty of the lower forty-eight states have mourning dove hunting seasons, and federal regulations allow states in the eastern U.S. to select seasons up to 70 days in length, between September 1 and January 15, with a daily bag limit of 15 doves. "There is no biological reason why doves could not be hunted in New York,” according to the DEC’s website. It is about time that sportsmen are provided the opportunity to hunt mourning doves in New York. Senate Bill 6968 is currently pending in the state Senate Environmental Conservation Committee. Contact members of the Senate Environmental Conservation Committee TODAY and respectfully urge them to support of S.6968! 12. Could be a good thread. How about: Motor Oil Gasoline/diesel Sulfur Dried up beer Black Powder Plumbers crack, nah that's a sight, not a smell. Gun oil (bananas) Tackle Box
  13. I can't believe there hasn't been a thread about this yet. This show is hilarious! I wake up the wife laughing when it's on. http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=duck+dynasty&view=detail&mid=7EC6EDD13F1B87692B477EC6EDD13F1B87692B47&first=21
  14. I'll bet they saw it coming though. Sorry to hear that Virgil. I will say that one strength of the union is that they help get buildings up fast, which gets the real estate end of things making money sooner. Especially comercial real estate.
  15. I laugh when I see people on Facebook complaining about the pension cuts by the unions, state, etc. The union members think all is fine and dandy until they get sold down the road by the same crooks that fooled them in the first place. Here's a newsflash THEY CAN'T AFFORD YOU ANYMORE! Pension = Ponzi scheme. They drive the price of everything up. The whole idea of any person being able to do a particular job the same as another will bring this country to it's knees. Unions = socialism. It's like playing a game of baseball and instead of putting the best pitcher on the mound and the best outfielder in the outfield, you put whoever, wherever. Anybody pay attention in the 80's/90's. What happened to the Soviet union? The government told you what your job was. So let's say someone should have been a municipal worker, but was groomed to be a heart surgeon? You want that guy operating on you? The only good thing anyone can say about unions is "It's helped me out" Yeah me, me, me. I get it. I'll bet most don't even know how much per hour they cost a company paying them. They also won't see most of the money that was spent on their behalf. Don't give me that b.s. that it puts money back into the economy because they workers have more money to spend because for every dollar more a union worker costs, another dollar was coughed up by the end user. In most cases the end user is the taxpayers. The greates divide and conquer operation in human history is the taxpayer system. Anyone see the parody video of the uaw worker to the auto manufacturers? "but we'll go out of business if we pay our workers these rates" "Oh well, here's our contract" I guess I don't need any coffee today!
  16. P.s., I went in a dryer once. It was freakin' awesome!
  17. Google maps says it's a 285 ft drive. The aerial view shows it to be next door. There appears to be 2 large buildings on the Timex property, one being much farther away from the school.
  18. Well, I was going to say "Darwin award", but it doesn't apply because the child had nothing to do with it. We'll give an honorary award to the parents. I love how the mom starts clapping like that's going to help.
  19. Sorry to hear this. Hope you and your family pull through.
  20. A comment from that page: For anyone who is interested, go to Google Earth and put in 1495 Thomaston Ave, Waterbury, CT. That's the old Timex factory. Sprague Elementary School is 1443 Thomaston Ave, which is hardly "next door". It is quite a distance away, one person said almost a quarter mile, but I'm not sure about that. However, the proposal is for the shooting range to be located underground, in the huge basement of the former Timex factory. Not only is it an indoor range, it is underground, and it is located beneath an industrial factory building. I think that Lisa lady is imagining the safety issues on strictly ideological grounds. She probably just hates guns and shooting enthusiasts. What boils my blood is that the Yahoo news article writer, Eric Pfeiffer, completely left out the fact that the range would be located underground, in the basement of a former factory. In other words, there probably is no way even a high powered rifle bullet could get out without passing through a couple of feet of concrete and bricks, and that just isn't happening with sporting firearms. Bottom line is that safety is really not an issue. Even the lead is not an issue because it is all contained within an enclosed basement and lead is OSHA regulated. I can accept that this Lisa person would be political and leave out pertinent facts. I can't accept that Eric Pfeiffer thinks he can leave out relevant facts while writing a news story about a proposed underground shooting range where he carefully fails to include any mention of it being located not only below ground level, but in the basement of a former industrial factory. It appears that Pfeiffer is being a tool rather than a reporter.
  21. My wife wants to go fishing! Crazy stuff.
  22. Bottom line is that it's tough to find anyone with no skeletons in their closet these days. Hey, so if a pedophile is pro gun, it's all good right? Didn't think so. Nuge gets under people's skin, but he needs to keep his nose clean if he's going to put himself in the limelight like that.
  23. Out with Ted and in with The Duck Commander!
