  1. I'm really impressed with the performance of Winchester Deer Season XP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Funny thing is they both prefer the cheaper ammo. Heck of that doesn't make them keepers nothing will!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The implement of the harvest is all secondary. It's what we do leading up and after the trigger is pulled that matter more about slobbery than anything else. I can teach a 10 year old to put x hairs on a shoulder and squeeze a trigger. He/she will be just as lethal as any of us. Facts are facts. We are all, hopefully, ethical sportsman regardless of the method of legal harvest used on game. Everything and I mean everything has some advantages and some disadvantages. It's what matters more to you as a personal choice for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. prevailing wind in your face which hopefully does not coincide with sunrises or sunsets.....
  5. Tough to spray something that you can only load and fire manually.....
  6. That was Ridge. Calverton is the Wild West. I only shoot there as a matter of last resort. True be told I love our range we put in at our camp in Hancock. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Well done. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. It does. And I recently learned that there were engraving variations by caliber. The 7 mm Mag had a big horn sheep head and a elk. The 270's had a deer and antelope. The 300 Win and had a bison and caribou and the 338's were a moose and a bison. or so I'm told. You're a good brother there is no other semi that shoots groups this good. Plus I'd really like to see how this new Deer Season XP performs on game as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I think these dogs will hunt. Winchester Deer Season XP 30-06 150 gr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. bolt over all with semi's as a close second. Love me my old Mk I BAR's from the 60's.
  11. Yup then I'd do that deal too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Votex ammo is $40 a box to buy. Check out the price yourself. Barnes isn't cheap stuff at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. $35 a box plus whatever shipping costs. If you're interested let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Barnes Vortex ammo copper fouls barrels badly. First hand experience. Cleaning is a nightmare. On the other hand if you love them I'll sell you 10 boxes of Vortex 168 gr. 30-06. I'd be happy part with them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. As long as you're printing groups that you're happy with ain't nothing on the eastern 1/2 of this continent that any 06 big game load won't fall to. It's just that good!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. PM me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. The 165 is the best all around load for 30-06 I believe. That said I've done most of my hunting with 150 gr in 06. Bottom line. 150 and up is the way go. Just find why your rifle likes. I got one old BAR can cut holes with Barnes ammo and gives me 2.5" groups with Winchester expensive black box suff but will shoot the cheap stuff Federal under an 1". All 180 gr. Got another one same gun that is an 1.25" gun no matter what you give it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I think that's what that place in Michigan the Sanctuary does. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. It was Bobby. He will be missed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. My son has one that's a shooter. I traded my 7600. Couldn't get the darn thing to shoot a group. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. LE uses slug and 00 buck for different reasons. Slug more so breaching because its more focused energy. At least that's was our patrol guide. Buckshot would be clearing a building for an active shooter or defensively at a barricaded suspect scene. Distances tend to be much closer. There are so many M4 carbines in use now and specialty teams available the use of patrol tactical weapons are really not at all common these days. Unfortunately I don't think that all of use practice our shooting enough or even as much as we can. For many reasons likely. Time is probably the biggest reason. Look I'm not trying to disrespect you at all for using what you choose to. I just don't get it when better tools of the trade are more available now. IMO. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hunter safety 101. Know your target and what's beyond it. Tough to do that in rows of corn. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. YouTube pop culture. Hickok is an old retired LE peckerwood from back east who live in the woods and shoots tin plates behind his house. He can shoot well, but most of us don't have all that free time to get that good. Tiger Woods can hit my clubs better than I can too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Cant shoot in standing corn anyways. Just sayin.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
